Position?Objectives
1. To?play?a?key?role?in?the?provision?of?a?safe,?healthy?and?caring?school?environment.
2. Working?with?the?Head?of?Boarding/Deputy?Head?(Pastoral),?to?provide?care?and?medical?support/advice?predominantly?to?the?school's?boarding?community.
3. To?take?responsibility?for?the?oversight?of?sick?students,?and?liaison?with?parents.
4. To?share?in?the?discharge?of?boarding?duties.
The?School?Nurse?will?be?responsible?for?all?health-related?issues?within?Oxford?InternationalCollege.??These?duties?will?include:
? the?treatment?of?students'?minor?ailments?on?a?day-to-day?basis;
? the?administration?of?medicines?to?individual?students,?as?requested?and?authorized?by?the?student's?parent(s);
? developing,?overseeing?and?managing?the?school's?health?educationprogramme:
1. working?with?teaching?staff?to?provide?age-related?health?education?programmes?documentation?and?teaching?materials;
2. actively?promoting?healthy?lifestyles?and?habits,?both?within?the?classroom?and?outside;
3. organizing?"awareness?drives",?focusing?on?healthy?living?themes?throughout?the?year;
4. actively?contributing?to?the?delivery?of?an?appropriate?sex?education?programme,?as?appropriate;
5. promotion?of?health?and?safety?issues,?to?include?hygiene,?in?and?around?the?school,?with?specific?reference?to?catering;
6. liaising?closely?with?the?Head?of?Boarding,?to?include?providing?an?emergency?advisory?service?out?of?hours,?if?and?when?required.
? maintaining?appropriate?medical?records?(including?through?the?school's?BEAM?database);
? informing?teachers?about?the?nature?of?students'?medical?conditions;
? liaising?closely?with?parents?for?medical?and?health-related?issues.
The?School?Nurse?will?be?part?of?the?residential?community?and?will?perform?the?following?duties:
? oversight,?where?required,?of?boarding?students;
? sharing?the?duty?rota?with?the?residential?boarding?team;
? undertaking?additional?tasks?as?may?reasonably?be?expected?by?the?Deputy?Head?(Pastoral).

? an?in-depth?understanding?of?the?central?role?played?by?residential"care"?in?the?educational?continuum;
? experience,?if?possible,?within?the?world?of?residential?education;
? able?to?convey?a?sense?of?enthusiasm?for?the?school?and?its?holistic?mandate;
? able?to?communicate?well?in?Chinese?(spoken?and?written)?and?to?understand?basic?English;
? smart?and?professional?in?dress?and?appearance;
? a?good?administrative?profile?-?well-organised,?efficient;
? a?good?interpersonal?profile?-?a?track?record?of?interacting?positively?with?students?and?colleagues;

This?post?is?residential.??A?self-contained?flat?is?provided,?along?with?free?meals?during?school?time.??At?times?when?the?post-holder?is?not?required?to?be?in?residence,?she?should?be?"on?call"?to?deal?with?unexpected?medical-related?situations.
Holiday?entitlement?will?be?in?line?with?other?school?administration?staff.??Salary?is?negotiable,?dependent?upon?age?and?relevant?experience.
